Christian rock band for North Norfolk camp
2012 : Christian rock band “Brokenfor” and evangelist Jodie Collins will be taking part in a youth camp at Smallburgh from May 11 to 13. Tony Rothe reports.
Youth groups with young people between 10 and 19 years old are invited to “Beyond Ourselves”, a fun-filled weekend of camping, teaching, workshops, food and activities, at Toads Green Farm, Smallburgh near North Walsham. The camp will run from 4pm on Friday May 11 until 2pm on Sunday May 13.
Workshops will include “Puppetry in Worship” by Chris Loades, Music by Alternative Progressive Epic Christian Indie Pop-Rock band ‘Broken For’, and “Art and Craft in Worship” by Gina Luckwell and Anne Russen.
The teaching programme will be presented by Jodie Collins, an evangelist who heads up the charity “Beyond Ourselves” which sets out to “make a difference beyond themselves”, both at home and abroad. Jodie has spent 4 years working at “The Living Room Christian Centre” in the heart of Tenerife.
Friends and family of young people at the camp are warmly invited to join the fun from 5pm on the Saturday evening. There will be barbecue at 5pm followed by worship with 'Brokenfor' and Jodie. 'Brokenfor' will then be in concert. Admission for the evening is just £5.
Young people will be accompanied by their Youth Leaders who will be responsible for their group’s equipment, kit and any medication for any of the young people in their group. Young people wishing to join in, but are not part of a youth group will be allocated a group and group leader. (Subject to available places).
The cost for the weekend for young people and leaders is just £15 per person as generous donations have enabled the cost to be kept down.
