Norwich Area URCs say farewell to Rev Alison Davis

Pab Fairland April 1i 071editAfter six years' service as one of the ministers in the Ministry Team of Norwich Area United Reformed Churches, Rev. Alison Davis has moved on to the Joint Pastorate of Bexley and Geddes Place Bexleyheath in Kent.
A farewell tea was held at Fairland Church Centre in Wymondham, which was attended by members and friends from churches in the area.  Tables were laid out with quizzes and jigsaw puzzles (one of Alison's hobbies) to challenge everyone and the Church Centre was soon filled with laughter and chatter as old and new friends collaborated to complete the tasks. As is the custom with church events, food was plentiful and the buffet table was laden.  While tea was being served, Alison cut the cake which had been specially made for her.
Along with the flowers and cards Alison received, Rev. Ian Fosten presented her with a cheque from members of all seven NAURC churches.  We have since heard that Alison has used part of this to purchase a picture of Norwich, which she had admired for some time - a visible reminder of her time in Norfolk.
Alison's induction took place on 17th May and several of our members travelled to Bexleyheath to attend the service.  We wish Alison God's blessing as she settles into her new pastorate and starts the next part of her journey.
