Norwich dinner hears of lawyer's transformed life
Peter Spreckley, a former lawyer turned Christian leader, was guest speaker at the Norwich FGB inspirational dinner evening at the Best Western Brook Hotel, Bowthorpe on Friday October 17.
An amusing and popular speaker, Peter came to faith in Christ “after the chance discovery of a book of Christian testimonies in a local library.” Today, he is UK chairman of the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship.
Up to that point of his conversion to Christ, Peter had everything going for him: the best private education, becoming a successful senior solicitor with a beautiful wife and four lovely children. They lived in a sixteenth century farmhouse. He was also a regular churchgoer, yet he had a deep sense that something was missing.
One day Peter asked himself whether God was real - and decided to find out. This led to him finding a book of Christian testimonies and the realisation that he had no personal relationship with Jesus Christ. For the first time, Peter began to read and understand the truth of the Bible.
Then he had an extraordinary power encounter with God, which changed everything, leading, eventually, to Peter becoming chairman of the FGB, the businessmen’s fellowship in the UK. He has travelled to many counties, sharing the power of God to save and transform lives.
