Bishop to open new Cawston school classroom
2016: Children and teachers at Cawston Primary School are to celebrate officially joining the Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust (DNEAT) and the opening of a newly built Reception classroom on Wednesday 28 September.
The Bishop of Norwich, the Rt Rev Graham James, right, will attend Cawston Church of England Primary Academy to lead an opening ceremony and talk with pupils and staff about the school’s achievements and plans. Bishop Graham will also bless the new classroom.
Head-teacher, Mrs Kay Swann said: “We were delighted to welcome The Rt Revd Graham James, Bishop of Norwich to officially open Cawston Church of England Primary Academy. As a successful school we look forward to working together with other trust schools whilst keeping our own individuality.
We are confident that the values of the DNEAT will our support our school in providing the very best education for the children in our care.”
Cawston Primary School joined the DNEAT family on 1 September 2016. Their present buildings date from 1953, though the school has operated in Cawston since the 1870s. They have seven classes, five of which are housed in the main building and two classes which are in a new modular building. The school was recently judged ‘good’ by Ofsted.
Paul Dunning, Chief Executive Officer of DNEAT said: “We are delighted to welcome Cawston Church of England Primary Academy to the DNEAT family and to celebrate the opening of this new classroom with them. Great teachers are at the heart of a successful school and having good facilities to work in is one important part of helping them achieve great outcomes for their pupils”
