SelfCareTraining750Self care training in Costessey for Chaplains

Chaplains and those involved in pastoral care are invited to a half day training session around self-care and its importance organised by Rev Canon Chris Copsey of the Diocese of Norwich, Development Worker for Good Work and Chaplain to the Norfolk Coroner on February 27.

On Wednesday, February 27 chaplains and those working in pastoral support are invited to a half day of training called “Self care: myth, mystery or just wholly unrealistic?”.

Rev Canon Chris Copsey, Chaplain to the Norfolk Coroner, Development Worker for Good Work and the Social, Environmental & Community Concerns Officer for the Diocese of Norwich has arranged the training. Chris said: "This is for Chaplains and those working in roles where self care should be a priority. Self care is a really important aspect of our role that can easily be squeezed or ignored.”

The training will be facilitated by Ken Donaldson, a qualified counsellor based in Suffolk and director of a counselling training company who has many years experience in Christian organisations.

Ken Donaldson has run Christian charities in London and Suffolk and has also been involved in his church team leadership. He has held trusteeships of several Christian and non-Christian charities. As well as currently leading a local charity helping women with addictions, Ken runs his own private practice from Bothy House in Eye. He is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, a qualified counsellor, couples practitioner, Life Purpose coach and clinical supervisor of counsellors.

Ken regularly trains various counselling modules and offers bespoke training to corporates and charities. Ken is also a co-director of a counselling training company and trustee of a counselling and training charity in Suffolk. His passion is to see people grow, develop and to realise their potential.
