Aylsham Pastor’s new book on living a thankful lifestyle

Prolific Christian writer Patrick Coghlan is expecting copies of his latest book ‘A Diary of Thankfulness’ to be available by the end of November. Tony Rothe reports.

A Diary of Thankfulness is written in a calendar format, consisting of 31 daily readings about thanking God – one for each day of the month. It looks at verses from the Bible about thankfulness and some of the many things for which we should be thankful to God. Patrick’s aim is to encourage us to take stock of all God has given and does for us, to become more thankful, and to adopt a lifestyle of thankfulness to God.
Patrick's book 2019 500CFWe are encouraged to write a diary of thankfulness of our own, jotting down daily responses to the sessions in a notebook and to continue using it to record further areas of thankfulness with which God challenges us. Being good at giving thanks to God for the expression of his love and blessings takes practice, especially during the difficult times, but we are urged to ‘give thanks in all circumstances’ (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
Patrick Coghlan, who is Minister of Worstead Baptist Church, Chaplain of Aylsham & district Care Trust, and Manager of ACT Counselling Services, will be available to come to talk to groups about his new book in December and in the New Year; and bring copies of ‘A Diary of Thankfulness’ and his other books to sell.
He says of the Royal Enfield motorbike pictured above “My red motorcycle” is one of the ways in which I relax and unwind from my work, which can be quite stressful at times. It has had more of a mention in some of my previous books; for the significant part which it plays in my life.”
The publishers Kevin Mayhew are taking orders for ‘A Diary of Thankfulness’ on their website; and Patrick is also taking orders via email. Contact: patrick@acsmail.net . The price of the book is £8-99.
