Orthodox Church hosts talks on Eastern Christianity

St Fursey’s parish in Stalham will be hosting a series of evening talks about the Orthodox Christian faith for anyone interested in learning more about Eastern Christianity.

The Orthodox Church is the second largest Christian body in the world, and the main expression of Christianity in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, but remains a mystery to many in the West.

Fr Stephen Weston, the priest of St Fursey’s, will lead these talks on the following topics:

  • Thursday 10th September 7pm: “Finding the New Testament Church”
  • Thursday 17th September 7pm: “Heaven upon earth” – Worship in Orthodoxy
  • Thursday 24th September 7pm: “Deification” – the human destiny
  • Thursday 1st October 7pm: “Windows into Heaven” – icons

The talks will be interactive and questions are very welcome! Refreshments will be served afterwards at approximately 8pm, followed by a short evening service at 8.30pm for a 9pm finish.
The talks will take place at the Saint Fursey’s Orthodox Church, Great Yarmouth Road, Stalham, NR12 9PG (the Old Police Station).
